This course is intended for those studying ceramics for the first time and is a comprehensive introduction to the craft of clay working. Students will work on the following clay building methods: pinch pot, coil, slab, drape mold and the potter’s wheel. They will begin to develop a personal style of working with clay and learn about clay, glazes and the firing process.. Knowledge of famous artists and time periods will also be addressed. Prerequisite: Art I recommended, but not necessary.
